Dear Ordeal Candidate,
Congratulations! You have been elected as a candidate for membership in the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America’s National Honor Society. Its purpose to:
- Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrant similar recognition.
- Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp.
- Develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation.
- Crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

Colonneh Lodge is proud to announce our first OA Trail Crew experience at El Rancho Cima, during Spring Break, 2012. The program will run from Friday evening (3/9) through Tuesday afternoon (3/13). The cost is $36.50 per participant, and space is limited to 24 youth. You must be at least 14 years old, and in good physical condition.
This is the Pilot Program of bringing the OA Trail Crew program to El Rancho Cima. This 4 day program will enable participants to experience El Rancho Cima like never before, with opportunities to provide "cheerful service" to help in our effort to make Cima the top camp in South Texas. In addition to service, participants will develop fellowship with other participants, and will also have opportunities to experience some of Cima's most popular high adventure programs.
All participants will receive a crew T-shirt, as well as other recognition and commemorative items, along with meals, and cracker-barrels.
Every participant will need to provide their medical (parts A, B & C) and bring personal camping gear, long pants and work gloves, and a cheerful spirit.
Online registration through the doubleknot system at http://www.doubleknot.com/openrosters/ViewActivitySpaceAvailable.asp?classificationID=18940&sf=F&orgkey=2552 (be patient working your way through the doubleknot system.... you'll get there :-)

Arrowman Bash(formally known as Spring Fellowship) has been completely redesigned and is better than ever!!! It will be at Camp Strake on March 30th - April 1st. There will be an Arrowman Bash planning meeting on February 12th at 5 PM at the Cockrell Scout Center. We would like for at least all Chapter Officers and Chapter Advisors to attend but the more the better!!! We will provide refreshments if we know ahead of time that more than 30 people will be there so invite your friends and let us know that your coming. Spring Fellowship is a weekend event at Camp Strake that allows Arrowman to recommit themselves to the principles of our order, brotherhood, cheerfulness and service. Saturday morning focuses on service to camp while Saturday afternoon and evening are filled with awesome food, exciting activities, and lots of fellowship opportunities (e.g., games, activities, competitions, PowWow). |

(Scouts Helping At Camp) Work Weekends
SHAC Corps is an opportunity for troops and crews to give back to camp in the form of a day of service. The Order of the Arrow is leading this opportunity, but this service project is open to all Boy Scouts and Venturers. All you have to bring is your personal camp gear. Camp is providing the food and a special Shoulder Patch (specific for each weekend) that will only be available to those who provide service. You can attend more than one weekend to collect all five CSP’s. Service projects will include creating new campsites and clearing new programs areas for activities such as zip lines. Letters will be given to youth who need school service hours. Units or individual Arrowman (OA members) may register.
Ordeals have been added to three SHAC Corps weekends. Arrowman elected into the OA during Fall 2011 elections may attend their Ordeal at the February, May, or June SHAC Corps weekends; candidates need to complete an ordeal registration form available at www.colonneh.org/ordeals
