Dear Ordeal Candidate,
Congratulations! You have been elected as a candidate for membership in the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America’s National Honor Society. Its purpose to:
- Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrant similar recognition.
- Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp.
- Develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation.
- Crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.
As you are aware, you must complete an Ordeal in order to become a member of the Colonneh Lodge Order of the Arrow. If you do not attend one of the 2012 Ordeal opportunities, then you will have to be re-elected by your Unit next year. Please keep in mind that weekends in the Fall are full of football games, band competitions and other outside obligations, so please plan to attend one of the earlier Ordeal if possible. Note that some are two days and some are three days. A candidate can only complete his Ordeal in our Lodge. 2012 Ordeal Candidate Forms (618.64 kB)
